Flying the flag for British carriage driving, Mike has become the first ever driver to be named the WINNER of the TSM Rider Award at the BETA Gala Dinner and Business Awards Evening 2015.
Mike received the award from Tim Smith of TSM, one of the country’s leading equestrian PR agencies and supporter of the award for the twelfth year. Nominated by his sponsors Abbey England, Mike was delighted to receive the award which acknowledges riders who work closely with their sponsors helping them to promote their products and brand through advertising, marketing and PR.
Said Mike: “I am thrilled to have won the award. Balancing carriage driving with my university studies is hard work at times but I love the challenge. Working with Abbey England has been a lot of fun and I am proud to be involved with a company that plays such an important role in British manufacturing. Abbey driving bits are of exceptional quality and fit the ponies beautifully.”
This award acknowledges sponsored riders who make the greatest contribution to the trade and work hard for their sponsors. An independent panel of judges selected Mike as this year’s winner in the amateur category.
Said Peter Phillips of Abbey England: “We started sponsoring Mike in 2011 and it is a pleasure working with him. He is always enthusiastic and nothing is too much trouble. Mike provides us with countless training features, participates in photo shoots and his next project is a series of ‘how to’ videos.”
Mike has an exciting year ahead of him and welcomes new sponsors as his carriage driving career progresses. If you are interested in sponsoring Mike and his team of ponies, please get in touch with us here.
